LILAM Enterprise & Commercial Licensing
LILAM is offered under a Dual-Licensing Model to support both the open-source community and professional enterprise requirements.
1. Open Source Edition (GPLv3)
Ideal for private projects, research, education, and pure open-source applications.
- License: GNU GPLv3
- Condition: If you integrate LILAM into your software and distribute it (externally or within a corporate group), the “Copyleft” clause of the GPLv3 requires you to disclose your own source code under the GPLv3 as well.
- Cost: Free of charge.
2. Enterprise Edition (Commercial License)
Specifically designed for corporations, government agencies, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) who wish to utilize LILAM within their internal production processes or embed it into proprietary software architectures.
- The “GPL-Exemption”: With a commercial license, you are released from all obligations of the GPLv3, particularly the requirement to disclose your own proprietary source code.
- Your Benefits: Legal Certainty (No “Viral Effect”), Proprietary Usage, and Priority Access to Enterprise Features (e.g., Dynamic Auto-Scaling).
Limitation of Liability / Haftungsbeschränkung
English (General):
- Limited Warranty: LILAM is provided “as is” without any warranty of any kind.
- Cap on Liability: Liability for indirect or consequential damages is excluded. Any aggregate liability for direct damages shall be limited to the total fees paid by the licensee during the preceding 12 months.
- Database Integrity: The licensee is solely responsible for database backups and monitoring system resources (SGA/PGA).
Deutsch (Gemäß § 444 BGB):
- Gewährleistungsausschluss: Die Software wird unter Ausschluss jeglicher Gewährleistung geliefert.
- Haftungsbegrenzung: Die Haftung für leichte Fahrlässigkeit ist ausgeschlossen, sofern keine wesentlichen Vertragspflichten (Kardinalpflichten) verletzt wurden.
- Ausnahmen: Der vorstehende Haftungsausschluss gilt nicht für Schäden aus der Verletzung des Lebens, des Körpers oder der Gesundheit sowie für Schäden, die auf einer vorsätzlichen oder grob fahrlässigen Pflichtverletzung des Urhebers beruhen (§ 444 BGB).
- Datenbanksicherheit: Der Lizenznehmer trägt die alleinige Verantwortung für die Datensicherung und die Überwachung der Oracle-Ressourcen.
Unsure which license you need?
If you intend to use LILAM in a closed-source commercial environment or do not wish to subject your PL/SQL modules to the GPLv3, the LILAM Enterprise Edition is the appropriate choice.
